Identifying documents

Having a valid passport is of utmost importance for citizenship identification purposes. In case a woman does not have a passport for any reason, she should immediately approach the Embassy of her country of origin, and find out what the criteria are for applying for a passport and begin the procedure.
Often, immigrant women and mothers are trapped in a situation where they must leave the state of Israel in order to obtain a passport. This often means they will not be able to return to Israel or to their children. This unnecessary procedure can be avoided, and alternative ways can be found to deal with the situation. The citizenship identification process is not always successful; however, all related aspects should be examined in depth, following which a decision can be made regarding the submission of an application.
